I’m a Derbyshire girl born and bred and I love being outdoors – you have to when you live near the Peak District! I’m a real foodie; my husband, daughter and I love exploring new places to eat, whether right here at home or further afield on our adventures. I’m talking all the foods too; I love a slice of cake and a burger as much as the next person, but I also love exploring and experimenting with seasonal produce, filling our plates with colour and variety and snuggling down with a bowl of hearty homemade soup. Full disclosure here – I am not a chef; nor do I spend hours upon hours in the kitchen creating new recipes.

I love exploring other people’s recipes but I am all about quick, simple, fuss free meals; just in case you were worried you needed Jamie Oliver levels skills to work with me!

I have 2 dogs, I’m an avid Strictly Come Dancing fan and I hate coriander! In a previous life I was a charity fundraiser and I LOVED my job; supporting the community and charitable causes is still something I am extremely passionate about.

Like most, I came to studying nutrition through my own experience of suboptimal health and feeling like I had no options. An IBS diagnosis and a pamphlet from my GP I didn’t know what to do. Was that it? I would have to suffer with these symptoms for the rest of my life. Wrong! I knew in my gut (pardon the pun) that this couldn’t be right, so I started reading and researching and slowly my health got back on track. I was hooked and fascinated by everything I read, and I knew in my heart this is something I wanted to progress and learn more about.

My beliefs are firmly rooted in the principal that every one of us should be entitled to good, honest nutrition advice and support, that is grounded in the latest scientific evidence.
